Well, it has been one year.
One year since Taylor and Skyla were taken from the world.
A press conference was held in Okemah this morning, June 8, 2009. OSBI Spokesperson Jessica Brown detailed the work that has gone into this case from the beginning, and reassured us all that the case is nowhere near cold; many leads have yet to be run, and forensic test results analyzed.
I want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to the OSBI, the Sheriff's Office, and each and every law enforcement entity taking part in solving this horrific crime. A successful resolution to this case cannot come soon enough, and we all continue to remain hopeful.
To the Plackers, the Whitakers, Taylor and Skyla's friends and their families, the staff and students at Graham School, and the community of Weleetka:
Not a day goes by that you are not in our thoughts and prayers. Speaking not only for myself, but also for the group of wonderful friends I've been fortunate enough to make not only from Oklahoma, but also Arkansas, Florida, and even Canada, who have come together in this time of tragedy: you are all in our hearts, and always will be. Taylor and Skyla are terribly missed by all of us.
God bless you all, and as we gather on this day of remembrance, let us try to remember that good shall overcome evil, and light shall overcome darkness.
